Provide some generally accepted privacy principles.

  1. Define, document, communicate and assign privacy policies and procedures.
  2. Disclose the privacy policies and procedures, and reason for collecting info.
  3. Give the option to consent to personal ID collection.
  4. Collect only what’s communicated.
  5. Use collected info only for what it was intended.
  6. Maintain complete and up-to-date PIP.
  7. Protect against unauthorized access and theft.
  8. Monitor and ensure compliance with privacy policies and procedures.
