CPA Exam Registration Requirements
Education Requirements
Credit Requirements: Minimum of 120 semester units, including Baccalaureate degree with concentration in Accounting OR AACSB-accredited Graduate Degree Minimum Degree Requirement: Baccalaureate Additional Requirements:
- At least 30 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours in accounting and ethics education, which must include at least:
- Accounting and Related Subjects – 27 hours, which must include:
- Auditing, Cost or Managerial Accounting, U.S. Federal Income Tax – 3 hours in each area (total 9 hours)
- Financial Accounting – 9 hours
- Elective Accounting Courses – 9 hours
- Ethics – 3 hours
- Accounting and Related Subjects – 27 hours, which must include:
- At least 21 undergraduate semester hours must be completed in at least in five of nine subject areas. These subject areas are: statistics, economics, corporation or business finance, management, marketing, U.S. business law, business communication, quantitative methods, and computer science/information systems.
Residency Requirements
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required Minimum Age: 18 Additional Requirements: Applicants are not required to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state
